The Ghost and Aliens Close to the Military Base in Andalucía

Advertisements

A trail of ghost children passing the road, the sight of a shining woman in the middle of the road are just some of the strange tales about the haunted stretch of road close to a military base in Andalucía.

Over the course of 19 years people claimed to see strange apparition on the stretch of road from Seville to Moron de la Frontera in Andalucía. It was built to connect the towns of Arahal, Utrera, Montellano and the Moron air base and strange things are said to happen here in the dead of the night.

There is not only one ghost story connected to this place, but several. And the ghost stories told about this place is not even the strangest thing told about this stretch of road.

The Ghost of Children Crossing the Road

Some of the strange apparition seen along this road is what appears to be the ghosts of school children.

Drivers along this road saw lines of children wearing what looked like school uniforms as they were crossing the road while holding hands before they suddenly vanished into thin air.

This was told by 4 young people in a car when one night 20 years ago a man jumped out from the ditch and stopped the traffic in the middle of the night by standing in the middle of the road to let the ghost children pass.

A line of children, boys and girls holding hands dressed in their school uniforms appeared. They crossed the road and disappeared without a trace.

If there have been a particular accident involving young school children that ended their life in a car accident is unclear. However, the legend about the ghost children crossing the road had been told for years now and has cemented itself as a part of the road lore.

There has been talk that it used to be a rural school in the place a long time ago, but what happened to it, no one really knows.

The Shining Woman in the Middle of the Road

Another ghost legend told about the place is what appears like the ghost of a woman. She is said to be appearing in the middle of the road who shines so bright that they first think she is some sort of traffic signal.

One of the witnesses of this strange thing was seen by Pedro Luque and his wife when they came driving on this road. It was dark and winter and when they approached what they thought was a traffic signal, they realized it was a woman.

He described her as at least 50 years old tall and skinny, with a serious look on her face like she was scared.

They didn’t stop for her, but when they passed her on the road and looked in the rearview mirror, she was gone.

Whether this is some sort of classical vanishing hitchhiker story is likely, but it could also pass as some of the more strange rumors going on about this road.

UFO’s and Humanoid Figures Close to the Military Base

As mentioned earlier, ghost stories are far from the strangest things people talk about when talking about this road. There have also been talks about seeing UFOs and other otherworldly things here.

Even the military have taken action to investigate the strange things that seemingly keep happening here.

A fair point about the strange things happening around these parts have been attributed to the proximity to the military base, especially since it is close to the base of the secretive Spanish air force in Moron.

Blood-thirsty Witches of The National Highway 66 in India

Advertisements

According to local legend, the entire stretch of the National Highway 66, formerly known as NH17 in India, is haunted. Travelers are warned about not carrying meat with them, as it is said to attract blood thirsty witches.

The National Highway 66

Travelers beware: NH17, the Mumbai-Goa highway, is more than just a scenic route; it is a stretch of road cloaked in dark legends and eerie encounters. This notorious highway stretching for 1640 kilometers from Mumbai along the coast through five states to Goa. Today it is under the name,

The National Highway 66 as it is called today is cutting through the lush landscapes of western India and if we are to believe the legends, the highway is whispered to be haunted by a coven of witches with an insatiable hunger for meat.

As the sun sets and the tropical darkness envelops the road, these spectral entities are said to emerge, prowling the The National Highway 66 in search of their next prey.

Flesh Praying Witches

So where does this peculiar legend come from? It is not often you hear about witches accumulating around the highways, although, India seems to have plenty of roads thought to be haunted. What type of witches they are not often specified. Are they spirits, are they even human?

Local lore advises against carrying non-vegetarian food items while traveling along NH17, particularly after midnight. The presence of meat is believed to draw the witches, triggering a series of terrifying events. Witnesses have recounted how their vehicles, otherwise in perfect working order, have inexplicably stalled or veered out of control as they passed through the most haunted stretches of the highway.

The Legend of the Couple on the Road

The most relayed legend is about a couple that was driving to Goa after midnight, when something went wrong. Their headlights started acting up, flickering and the car gave some strange sounds as it was something wrong with it.

They pulled to the side and went out of the car to check. When they exited the car, the doors locked automatically behind them, and although they tried their best, they were unable to get back in.

Black smoke started to seep out from the car and the doors unlocked themselves. When they checked the car, all their food was gone. That is when the woman screamed and when the man went to check on her, she had scratches on her face.

Quickly they jumped in the car and sped away. First after they got to their destination and told about what happened, they understood what had happened. They had been carrying meat, something that would attract the witches.

The National Highway 66 and the Haunting

But exactly where does this happen, because after all, it is a very long stretch of road through five states. The story about the witches is especially said to happen around Kashedi Ghat, a mountain pass along The National Highway 66 near Poladpur with a deadly dangerous curve, perhaps the worst one in Maharashtra, the neighboring state to Goa.

This particular piece of stretch is every driver’s nightmare with its twists and bends. Many stories about people seeing apparitions on The National Highway 66 as well as thinking that they have fallen into a loop where they cross the same place again and again are many. Even the the road traffic police have reported about the strange things that are said to happen on this road.

These stories have been told for decades by now, and it seems like some of the locals still think it is best to just take their precaution as the witches is seemingly going no where. Travelers, take heed: if you must journey down this path, leave your meat behind, lest you become the next victim of the witches’ nocturnal hunt.

Ghosts Roaming in the Dow Hill Forest and School

Advertisements

In the thick forest at Dow Hill in Kurseong, locals have reported seeing strange things between the trees and in the old school from colonial times are said to have ghosts in attendance even when the school is closed.

In the picturesque hills of Kurseong in West Bengal, lies a forest as well as a school shrouded in mystery and dark legends. About 30 kilometers from Darjeeling, this place has been the subject of numerous paranormal sightings and eerie occurrences.

The Dow Hill of Kurseong is also known as the Land of White Orchids in the Lepcha language. The Lepcha people were the first people that settled in the area and the place has been fought over by both the Indian kingdoms as well as Nepal.

The town also offers a fantastic view of the Teesta Valley and the surrounding Himalayan ranges. It is high up in the mountains with a pleasant climate and therefore popular to the British when they colonized India.

But it is also known as a very haunted place. From ghostly apparitions to inexplicable footsteps, many visitors and locals have reported feeling an unnerving presence, especially in the dense forests surrounding the old school. What makes Dow Hill so haunted?

The Ghosts of the Dow Hill Forest

The Dow Hill Forest is a dense and eerie forest that surrounds the school. Many people have reported feeling an unnerving presence in the forest, as if they are being watched by someone or something.

In the forest people keep talking about seeing the ghost of a boy close to what the locals call the Death Road between the Dow Hill Road and the Forest Office. Visitors as well as local woodcutters have reported seeing a young boy walk along the road and disappearing into the forest. According to those telling the story, the boy is headless. When people tried to follow him, he had just disappeared into thin air in the thick forest.

Some have even claimed to have seen him chasing after them or have been watched by some red eyes.

The forest is also home to the ghost of a young girl or woman wearing gray wandering in the mystic forest. The worst rumors about this haunted forest though, is that some people have been driven mad by it or sent them into a sort of trance.

The History of Victoria Boys School

There are two historical schools in the area, one is Dowhill Girls and the other one is the Victoria Boys School was established in 1879 by the British Government and is one of the oldest schools in India. The school was named after Sir Ashley Eden, who was the Lieutenant Governor of Bengal from 1877 to 1879. The name was later changed to Dow Hill School in 1926.

It was originally meant for the children of British officers stationed in India and people working for the railway. It was later opened to Indian students as well. It is the boys school that is supposedly haunted.

Dow Hill School: An old picture of Dow Hill School in Kurseong that are now supposedly haunted.

However, the school’s history is not all sunshine and rainbows. The area around Dow Hill has witnessed several tragedies over the years, including murders and accidents according to legends. The school has also had many students and teachers pass away due to illnesses. Some think that it is the haunting and darkness found in the forest that have entered the school as well. Or could it be the other way around?

Although there are no written records about this, the haunted rumors persist. It is particularly in the months of December to March a lot of the hauntings are supposed to happen. The school is closed then, but even if there is no one there, you can still hear whispers and footsteps coming from within from children.

Many of the stories are told from the guards looking after it throughout the holiday, and they claim to hear voices of children in the dark corridors and seeing students there when there are not supposed to be any.

The ghost of the headless ghost of the boy from the forest is also said to haunt this area. People have also claimed that the ghost of a boy has been seen looking at them through the window.

Even though the ghost stories are plenty, the school management keeps insisting that there have never been a death on the school grounds.

The Hauntings of Dow Hill

Dow Hill School as well as the surrounding forest is a place shrouded in mystery and dark legends. Especially in the last couple of years during October people have been reported to visit the school and forest in search of ghosts after the legends about the place started to spread and reach a wider audience.

The school and police have seen it’s necessary to put up signs notifying people where there are protected areas and no entries to keep people out from the schools. They also deny people permission to spend the night in the forest. For what reason could there be to keep them our from these woods?

The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops: A Haunting Tale on Manali-Leh Road

Advertisements

A huge pile of trash marks on the side of Manali-Leh Road by the Gata Loops marks the grave and the ghost temple put up for a ghost allegedly haunting the area after dying in a snowstorm. What is the strange story behind The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops?

Are you planning an adventurous road trip from Manali to Leh in the Indian mountains of Himachal Pradesh? Chances are you’ll pass through the famous Gata Loops along the way through the mountainous landscape, a pretty unknown place except for the locals. While this stretch of road is known for its challenging 21 hairpin bends, it also holds a spine-tingling story that travelers often encounter.

Read more: Check out all of the ghost stories from India

Gata Loops, true to its name, is a series of winding and looping roads that form 21 hairpin bends. Situated on the Manali-Leh road at an elevation of approximately 17,000 feet, these loops stretch over 10.3 kilometers, with each loop spanning between 300-600 meters. However, the last two loops deviate from this pattern, being 800 and 1,000 meters long, respectively.

Gata Loops in the Indian Mountains: Sharp turns, remote mountainous area and treacherous weather can make driving on the Gata Loops on Manali Road dangerous and one particular ghost story about one who died on these roads have given rise to its own ghost temple at the side of the road.

What is the Ghost Temple in Manali

Among the bikers hiking up the mountains, or travelers passing through, they gather around and tell tales of mystery about the area. One of those tales is about the strange Ghost Temple of Gata Loops with a harrowing story behind it.

A huge pile of trash and plastic water bottles and cigarettes marks the place of the Ghost Temple in Manali at around the 19th bend of the Gata Loops. But what exactly is it, and who is the ghost haunting this particular stretch of road?

Read more: Check out all of the Haunted Roads around the world

Exactly when this happened varies according to those that tell it. Some place it in 1999, perhaps an October night. A truck carrying goods found itself in a dire situation as the winters in these parts can be quite treacherous.

The Ghost Temple of Manali-Leh Road: On the loops of Manali-Leh Road, a pile of trash have collected around the believed ghost temple of a driver that supposedly died and haunts these parts. //Source: The Ghost Of Gata Loops – Vargis Khan

While trucks are known to navigate these loops, for those seeking a less challenging route, shortcuts are available. The steeply elevated roads are wide enough for trucks, making them a preferred choice for transporting goods.

Crossing the treacherous Rohtang Pass during the cold autumn going to winter night when it had already snowed in places, this truck faced mechanical problems and the trucker was unable to fix it. With no help in sight and facing harsh weather conditions, the driver and his assistant helper decided to wait for assistance.

A Desperate Journey

The driver embarked on a challenging walk to the nearest village, Sarchu, to find a mechanic, leaving his unwell helper behind to protect the cargo. However, heavy snowfall held the driver and stopped him from returning.

Several days later, when the weather cleared, the driver returned to find his helpmate’s lifeless body. The severe cold, hunger, and thirst had claimed his life. Local villagers buried the deceased by the road’s 19th bend that soon turned into The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops.

The Ghostly Apparition of The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops

Over the years, travelers reported encountering a young man along their journey who sought water and provisions close to The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops. Those who stopped and gave the man a water bottle saw it slipped right through his hands.

The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops: Source

Believing this figure to be the ghost of the deceased helper, local villagers established a small shrine to placate his spirit. Passersby often leave mineral water and cigarettes at the shrine to prevent potential wrath or calamities along the way.

What happened that winter night is hard to prove or disprove. People are still giving away water to the bricks that make a little clearing by The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops. Inside it is a real human skull placed inside. Or so the saying goes at least.

Regardless, some travelers claim to have experienced the apparition of the ghostly helper around the area of The Ghost Temple of Gata Loops. If you dare to venture along this eerie path, tread with caution, but remember that a world of enchanting landscapes awaits you beyond Gata Loops.

The Ghostly Legend of the Royal Calcutta Turf Club

Advertisements

In the misty mornings on Saturday, some talk about seeing the ghost of one of the former horses of the The Royal Calcutta Turf Club, still racing, long after losing the title of being the Queen of Track.

The club is a horse racing organization founded back during the British Raj in 1847. It became the forefront runner for all horses racing on the subcontinent that decided the rules of the game as well as hosting polo matches. The races at Royal Calcutta Turf Club were seen as the most important events to socialize and always opened by the Viceroy of India.

Today, the Royal Calcutta Turf Club is still in operation as a private club and holds races in Kolkata Race Course in Maidan with most races held on Saturdays.

The Ghost Haunting the Royal Calcutta Turf Club

Legend has it that within the grounds of the Turf Club, there is a ghost roaming the old tracks. The ghost is not human though, but rather a white horse that was once known as the Queen of Tracks.

The tale traces back to the heyday of George Williams in the 1930s when there were high stakes and a lot of money to be made at the races at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club.

Williams was a man consumed by an insatiable passion for horse racing. Williams, a regular patron of the Turf Club and owner of several horses, was known for his prized possession: a magnificent white stallion named Pride. Or was Pride really a stallion, sources varies, calling the horse she as well at times.

Pride was no ordinary horse; he was a symbol of Williams’ glory days at the racetrack, winning him race after race with unmatched speed and grace. According to the legend, Williams loved his horse more than anything, including his own family and spent all of his time in the stables.

However, as time wore on, Pride’s once-mighty strides faltered, and he began to show signs of age and weakness. Despite his diminishing prowess, Williams remained fiercely loyal to his equine companion, refusing to retire him from the track. It is said that in the final match of the Annual Calcutta Derby, the horse lost and Williams also lost a fortune that day.

Tragedy struck one fateful day when Pride was discovered lifeless on the racecourse. According to the story, the horse was found with bullet wounds in the head and it was believed that Williams had killed the horse as it was no longer winning races, as the tradition was. Some even said the horse was killed in drunken frustration by Williams when he lost his money.

Sir William’s White Horse Haunting the Track

It was not the last race for Pride though if we are to believe the stories. Locals whispered of seeing a ghostly apparition – a glowing white horse – galloping across the racecourse on moonlit Saturday nights, its ethereal presence a haunting reminder of Pride’s untimely demise.

The locals know of this spirit as “William Saheb er Sada Ghora” – or “Sir William’s white horse.”

The Eerie Tale of Goa’s Ghost Hotel on the Beach and its Russian Ghost

Advertisements

An abandoned ghost hotel is left haunted at the beaches of Goa, India. In the unfinished Sina Hotel, it is said that the ghost of its Russian owner is lingering after being murdered and not completing the project.

In the vibrant and sun-soaked state of Goa, a land known for its pristine beaches and lively culture, stands an eerie testament to unfinished dreams and lingering spirits: the Ghost Hotel. Originally christened the Sina Hotel, this abandoned complex, built by the Russians in Agonda, famous for its beaches, has become one of the most infamous haunted sites in Goa, drawing thrill-seekers and paranormal enthusiasts alike.

The Ghost Hotel’s ominous reputation stems from a dark and tragic history. Intended to be a five star luxurious retreat, the construction of the Sina Hotel was abruptly halted due to severe legal complications in the early 1990s. It has remained in a state of abandonment ever since 1998 according to some sources.

Read more: Check out all ghost stories from India

Because of its rumors and legends that have started to grow around the hotel like its surrounding trees, hiding it from the world, the Sina Hotel has mostly gone under names like Ghost Hotel or Devil’s Hotel.

The Murder of the Owner

Adding to the mystery of its haunted rumors, it is widely believed that the property’s original owners met a violent end. And that one of the reasons of why the hotel project was abandoned was because one of the owners was murdered.

But who are the owners who are very hard to find information on. There is no clear evidence that there ever was a murder. And what about the name, Sina Hotel. Does it have anything to do with the tiny village in Russia? Or perhaps more likely, the Italian Sina Hotel, a chain of luxury hotels around the world?

Since then, tales of ghostly apparitions and unexplained phenomena have plagued the site. Locals believe that it could be the spirit of the alleged murdered owner that is still lingering on the premise.

The Haunted Hotel in the Jungle

Visitors to the Ghost Hotel at the end of the beach inside of the jungle frequently report unsettling experiences. The most commonly sighted apparition is that of the hotel’s former owner. Descriptions of his ghostly form vary, but many claim to have seen a figure wandering the derelict hallways and grounds. Some say they have felt an icy chill or a sense of being watched, while others have heard disembodied whispers echoing through the empty corridors.

Read More: Check out all the stories of Haunted Hotels

Some have seen shadowy figures flit across their peripheral vision, while others have heard the sound of footsteps following them, only to find no one there when they turn around. These chilling experiences have caused many visitors to flee, unable to endure the fear and anxiety that come with working at such a haunted location.

Paranormal Seekers Vacation

Despite, or perhaps because of, these unsettling tales, the Ghost Hotel has become a must-visit destination for those seeking a brush with the supernatural. The clientele seeking the hotel is nothing like what they first intended, but nonetheless, the hotel does get its visitors.

Paranormal investigators, both amateur and professional, flock to the site, eager to capture evidence of the hotel’s spectral inhabitants. Equipped with cameras, recording devices, and other ghost-hunting gear, they explore the dilapidated rooms and corridors, hoping to document the elusive spirits that are said to dwell there.

There have also been many cases of squatters and homeless people taking refuge and at least for a time being, making the hotel a home. Most often there is someone staying at the hotel and demand money from people that dare to enter.

The Haunted Ghost Hotel

The skeletal remains of the hotel loom large against the Goan skyline, its incomplete and crumbling architecture adding to the atmosphere of desolation and dread. Overgrown vegetation has reclaimed much of the property, with vines creeping over the once-grand structures and wild plants sprouting through cracks in the concrete. This natural reclamation only heightens the sense of abandonment and eeriness that pervades the site.

In conclusion, the Ghost Hotel stands as a haunting reminder of dreams unfulfilled and lives cut short. Its eerie reputation, fueled by tales of paranormal activity and ghostly apparitions, makes it one of Goa’s most intriguing and chilling attractions.

The water hole found in the forest is also known as the Witch’s Well. The term “Baudi” translates to a well, and as per local legends, this well at Chudail Baudi was excavated during the British colonial era. However, this well holds more than water—it holds a chilling curse, believed to be the creation of a vindictive spirit.

The Woman in White Saree

Local folklore narrates the haunting tale of a woman who met a tragic fate many years ago, and her lingering spirit is said to torment this well. She is often described as an English woman with long black hair and a white saree. Many claim that she is asking passing cars for lift or just constantly staring at you from the backseat of your car if you refuse her.

According to the legend, the woman was unjustly accused of adultery, a crime that led her husband to mete out a gruesome punishment—he buried her alive near this very well. Her restless spirit is thought to haunt Chudail Baudi, forever seeking retribution against those who cross her path.

Chilling Encounters on the Road

Around Chudail Baudi, many have recounted eerie experiences bordering on the paranormal, especially on the surrounding roads. It is said that cars automatically slow down in the area, no matter how much you try to accelerate. It is also said that if you encounter the woman in the white saree and doesn’t give her a lift, she will chase after your car. A story very similar to The Ghost of the Lady in White Sari of Delhi Cantt.

There are tales that her showing up has caused many accidents on the nearby roads, where even some of the car crashes have cost more lives.

Some claim to have heard a woman’s anguished cries echoing from the depths of the well, while others have witnessed a spectral figure, ethereal and haunting, hovering above the water’s surface. Venturing close to the well after nightfall, they describe an unsettling silence.

The Future of Chudail Baudi

Although the haunted legends around the water hole are well known in the region, this doesn’t stop life for moving forward. Plans are to make this area a playground for the local kids. The question is, will the haunting stop for this reason? Or perhaps it will just get more fuel?

The Haunting of Madh Island Road and its Beaches by the Murdered Bride

Advertisements

On this serene vacation island with its lush beaches, it is said that Madh Island Road and the nearby beaches are haunted by a would-be bride that was brutally murdered in the area.

Madh Island Road, located in Mumbai, India, is known for its picturesque beach and luxurious resorts facing the Arabian Sea. However, what many people don’t know is that this seemingly idyllic location is also home to one of India’s most terrifying ghost stories.

This road connects the mainland of Mumbai to Madh Island, which is a small fishing village with a population of about 10,000 people. The narrow and deserted road is about 15 kilometers long and is surrounded by mangroves, salt pans, and fishing villages.

The legend goes that a woman in white haunts the road at night, causing accidents and terrorizing anyone who crosses her path both on the Madh Island Road and the surrounding beaches.

The Murdered Woman in the Mangroves

One of the most told legends about this area is about the young woman that is said to linger. According to the stories she was brutally murdered on her wedding day and her body was disposed of in the thick forests of mangroves nearby.

She is said to roam the beaches, and streets where it is said she is stopping passing cars. According to the stories she is still wearing her bridal clothes and anklets as she is sobbing. For what is uncertain. To get help or to warn people? To get some sort of revenge? In any case she is said to have been the cause of several of the road accidents that happen on these roads.

The Death on the Road

Another variant of the legend is that she wasn’t murdered per se, but died in a car crash together with her husband on their wedding night. The reasons for their crash have many variants. Some claim that they simply were unlucky, some say that the husband sped the car in front of the car and jumped, leaving his wife to fatally crash into it.

The woman died on the spot, and her spirit is said to have haunted the road ever since. According to the legend, the woman’s ghost appears on the road at night, causing accidents and terrorizing anyone who crosses her path.

When these stories are said to have happened varies, but the legends go back at least a couple of decades. According to the stories she is said to appear on nights with the full moon and staff working at the hotels nearby are said to have heard her dying screams.

The Ghost of the Bus Passengers

Another told legends from these parts is about the ghosts of passengers of a ghost that crashed somewhere along the road. It is said that ghosts haunt the road, looking for help. There are also several car crashes that are said to have left their ghosts, as they wander the road they died on for eternity.

Haunting Tales of NH-79 near Dudu and Ghosts Escaping a Child Marriage

Advertisements

It is said that a mother carrying her child is haunting the NH-79 close to Dudu in Rajasthan. People tell about seeing the ghosts of them, still trying to escape their fate.

Rajasthan’s highways are known for their picturesque landscapes and historical significance, but one stretch of road near Dudu Village on NH-79 has gained notoriety for much darker reasons.

Read more: Check out all of the ghost stories from India

This section of the Ajmer-Udaipur highway, often referred to as the “road that asks for blood,” is considered one of the most haunted places in the region. The spine-chilling tales emerging from Dudu Village and its surroundings have left many travelers wary of this seemingly cursed highway.

A Dark History of Child Marriages

The haunting reputation of NH-79 near Dudu Village, or rather a district, is rooted in a tragic story from the past. In a time when child marriages were rampant in India, a horrifying incident occurred that would forever mark this area with a sense of dread. That is what the stories say, “from when it was common”, as if it is a thing of the past. Sadly, although there are many laws to protect against it today, these things still happen.

In the Dudu and Kishangarh blocks in Rajasthan, approximately every year, more than 150 child marriage cases can be found. 27% of girls in India are married before their 18th birthday and 7% are married before the age of 15.

The Mother and the Child Trying to Escape

Children as young as babies are all victims of child marriages in the world, and this is one of the stories about it.

A five-day-old infant girl was to be married off to a three-year-old boy. The infant’s mother, vehemently opposed to this inhumane tradition, decided to flee in a desperate bid to save her daughter from her sealed fate.

In her frantic escape, the mother ran towards the highway seeking help. Tragically, her attempt to secure freedom ended in disaster when both she and her baby were struck and killed by a vehicle. Their untimely and brutal deaths are said to be the origin of the ghostly legends that now haunt NH-79.

The Ghost Guiding them Away from Dudu

The eerie tales of NH-79 came to life for three friends who were driving down the Ajmer-Udaipur highway one dark night. As they neared Dudu Village, they encountered an apparition that would leave them deeply unsettled. The ghost of a woman, carrying a baby in her arms, appeared and inexplicably entered their car, taking a seat in the back.

The spectral figure then began to guide them out of the village, her presence undeniable and terrifying. The friends, initially dismissing the experience as a nightmare, quickly realized the gravity of the situation as the haunting encounter continued for over fifteen minutes.

The chilling ordeal left a lasting impression, a tale they would recount with a shiver for years to come. But then again, the ghost came to help them out of the place. Perhaps in some ways they helped her too?

The Highway Numberings

Many sources claim that the story is set on the NH-79 Highway. This is not possible though as Dudu is a district in Rajasthan, and the highway is entirely in Tamil Nadu, a completely different state.

It is also said to be the Ajmer-Udaipur route, which is a part of NH-58 and you have to take the NH-48 to get to Dudu on the way to Jaipur. Although the old numbering looks like it was NH-79 that went from Ghat Bilod to Ajmer before it changed in 2010.

In that case, the ghost story had to happen before 2010 although the stories online seems to have appeared some years later, at least in English.

She is even said to have stopped cars and saved the driver from a crash from an oncoming vehicle. She then tells the driver that this was the place she died and she spends the rest of her afterlife trying to save others from suffering her fate.

The Vanishing Hitchhiker on Arrabassada Road

There is also the story about a young man who picked her up on Arrabassada Road, one of those thinking she was just a normal girl hitchhiking. She asked him to let her out right before they reached the curve for some reason. Although the young man didn’t understand, he followed her advice and stopped the car.

Because they stopped he was saved from a collision of a truck he would have hit if he had not stopped to drop her off.
